The countdown to Christmas is on!
If that makes you panic, you've probably experienced the frenzy of last-minute Christmas preparations in the past and you know how stressful it can make what should be the most wonderful time of the year.
As with most things, a little early preparation can prevent that stress, so now is the time to start getting organised, little by little, so that the big day doesn't creep up on you and leave you in a panic once again.
If you follow Lorna Leigh Lane on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter, you've probably seen the Christmas countdown that began earlier this week to count down the next 10 weeks until Christmas. But for those of you who've missed it, I thought I might send you a weekly list of tasks to get you thinking and planning now for the silly season before it hits in full force.
So, I'll list each week's tasks here on the blog to keep you ahead of the game. This week's Christmas countdown tasks are:
WEDNESDAY: 69 sleeps – Book your hairdresser appointments.
Don't leave it until the last minute. Get in early and book your December 'do now! Book the rest of the family in too.
THURSDAY: 68 sleeps – Sign up for your favourite store emails.
Do you have 'go to' stores that you often buy Christmas gifts from? If so, subscribe to their websites so you can take advantage of sales and special offers this Christmas.
FRIDAY: 67 sleeps – Organise your Christmas family photo.
If you need one for your Christmas cards, start planning your family photo now to avoid a frenzied, tearful photo shoot at the last minute! Add the tasks and appointments to your planner.
SATURDAY: 66 sleeps – Set up your Christmas planning folder.
It's time to get a little more serious about planning for Christmas. Over the next weeks, there will be some FREE PRINTABLES coming your way so it might help to find a folder to keep them all in. And just to make it pretty, head to the website to snag your free printable cover page. If you buy an insert binder, you can use the front cover, spine label and back cover to make it really awesome. Head to the Printable Library to download and print yours.
SUNDAY: 65 sleeps – List what you need for your wrapping station.
Avoid the stress of last-minute gift wrapping late at night, set up a wrapping station so you can wrap as you go. Gather what you already have and list the things you'll need to buy. Think gift wrap, ribbon, scissors, tape, pens and gift tags.
And, altogether, this week's tasks on a check list (because we love to tick):
